On the release of 'Jhini Bini Chadariya', it is not right to reject any film just because of its story. There is a film named Jhini Bini Chadariya. It has been toured in many film festivals like Dharamshala International Film Festival, Tokyo Film Festival, UK Asian Film Festival. Many big filmmakers have praised this film. But 'Jhini Bini Chadariya' director Ritesh Sharma recently told that he has not yet found any OTT buyer for the film. Ritesh shared a poster of the film and wrote, “I am not surprised that no OTT platform wants to buy our film 'Jhini Bhini Chadariya'. OTT says about our film – We are not in a position to buy your film right now because this film touches political and communal matters.'' But why is no OTT platform buying this film? The reason is being told to be its story. The story of 'Jhini Beeni Chadariya' takes place on the backdrop of Banaras. It is the story of Rani and Shadab. Rani who is a dancer. She earns money by dancing in weddings and other functions and wants to educate her daughter. She wants to live her life. Shadab, who makes sarees. OTT people believe that this story of Rani and Shadab can increase communal tension. Perhaps that is why they are not buying 'Jhini Beeni Chadariya'. By the way, this is not the first time that a film has been stopped from being released or brought on OTT by saying that it increases communal tension. The recent example is Dev Patel's film 'Monkey Man'. Which was not allowed to be released in India. Allegations were made that the story of this film is inspired by Hanuman. It is the story of a man who has a good reach in politics. The color of that man's party is saffron. Obviously there was bound to be a controversy on this matter. It did happen. That's why this picture was not released here. But, in the last few years, films like 'The Kashmir Files', 'The Kerala Story' have also been released. People sent notices to the makers to stop the release of the film. But still this film was released. Not only was it released but it also got praise and also got a place on the OTT platform. When all these films got a place on OTT, then why is 'Jhinni Bini Chadariya' not being bought? Recently, Anurag Kashyap also came to our special program 'Guest in the Newsroom'. He praised the film 'Jhinni Bini Chadariya' a lot. He said that very good films are being made with great concepts in low budget. Which should be seen. If you want, you can listen to this conversation of Anurag here- As for the release of 'Jhinni Bini Chadariya', it is not right to reject any film just because of its story. It would be better if the decision of how the film is or not is left in the hands of the audience. What do you think about this issue, please tell us.
